Meeting Our Objective
At AFCAC, our Legal Strategic Objective is to help States establish, enforce, and strengthen an effective legal system that supports the sustainable development of Air Transport across Africa.
To meet our objective, we:
DEVELOP
● and implement the African Civil Aviation Policy (AFCAP) in collaboration with the AUC and other stakeholders.
● rules and regulations aimed at enabling member states to have harmonised positions in civil aviation matters
SUPPORT
● the Bureau and the Plenary by offering legal advice/opinions to ensure that States implement all Resolutions and Decisions of the AFCAC Plenary and Bureau.
● member States by providing the necessary legal advice regarding Civil Aviation matters.
● compliance with International Aviation Instruments.
● by offering legal inputs to ensure that all AFCAC external communications are legally accurate.
PROMOTE
● the new AFCAC Constitution and its amendment by encouraging States to sign, ratify, or accede to promote the integrity, autonomy, and visibility of AFCAC as the specialised institution of the AU on matters relating to Civil Aviation in Africa.
● international air law instruments by encouraging African States to sign and ratify them
