At the invitation of the Commissioner for Infrastructure Energy and Tourism, the Bureau of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) attended the consultative meeting held on the 13 March 2018 at the Headquarters of the African Union Commission (AUC) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
AFCAC was represented by the President, the Vice President Western Region, the Coordinator of the AFI Group on ICAO Council, the Interim Secretary General of AFCAC, the Director of Air Transport and the Legal Advisor of AFCAC. Also present at the meeting were the Director of Infrastructure and Energy accompanied by technical staff, the Representative of the President of Togo as Champion of SAATM and the Permanent Representative of Togo at the African Union and the Economic Commission for Africa.
The main objective of the consultation meeting was to discuss matters of capacity strengthening of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC). As the Executing Agency of the Yamoussoukro Decision, AFCAC has a critical role to play in terms of managing the smooth operation of the Single African Air Transport Market. AFCAC presented a clear plan on how to strengthen the capacity of the Executing Agency including identification of funding needs.
