In line with AFCAC’s vision to foster a safe, secure, efficient, cost effective, sustainable and environmentally friendly civil aviation industry in Africa, the 12th AFCAC-CAAS On-site Training on Air Operator Certification and Surveillance was organized by AFCAC, in Cotonou, Benin, from 02 - 06 October 2017 . The Course for Inspectors and Airport Operations Officers of AFCAC member States was conducted by the Singapore Aviation Academy in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between AFCAC and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to assist African Aviation Professionals to develop competencies in the area of Air Operator Certification and Surveillance.
A total number of 25 participants from 7 States, namely: Benin, Congo, Djibouti, Mali, Senegal, Togo and Zambia attended the Course.
The onsite training course was officially opened by the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), Mr Behanzin Prudencio.
AFCAC and CAAS expectation was that at the end of the Course, participants would be able to re-examine and update the Air Operator Certification and Surveillance procedures for Airworthiness Inspectors.
